Kanoo launches crane firm

The Kanoo Group has recently formed a joint venture with Johnson Crane Hire, the largest mobile crane rental company in Africa and the Southern Hemisphere.

Operating a fleet of over 250 technically advanced mobile cranes, Johnson is ranked No 19 in the IC50 listing of the top 50 crane hire companies in the world.

Mishal Hamed Kanoo, deputy chairman of the Kanoo Group, UAE & Oman says: "It gives us great pleasure to be associated with a leading crane hire company such as Johnson. They will compliment our existing Machinery Division by adding real value to the range of services which we offer."

Many years of experience working on a wide range of projects and on-site conditions in locations throughout Africa and the Indian Ocean islands, has enabled Johnson to develop a special understanding of the crane industry and its customers' requirements. Johnson offers cost-effective and versatile engineering solutions to the petrochemical, civil engineering, construction, industrial, utilities, aviation, marine and other industrial clients.

Their distinctive blue and orange cranes are fast becoming a feature of many construction and industrial sites in Dubai.

The first Johnson depot is situated in Al Quoz, trading as Johnson Arabia," says Gerald Topfer, the newly-appointed general manager of Johnson Arabia in the UAE.
